The grid is the largest machine ever built. It deserves better software.

Gridline was founded by grid operators tired of green-screen SCADA — people who spent night shifts balancing feeders on software that refreshed every four seconds while solar, storage and bidirectional load rewrote the physics underneath it.

Our conviction is simple: the energy transition is an observability problem. You cannot balance what you cannot see, and you cannot automate what you cannot trust. So we build the instrument layer first — precise, legible, boring in the best sense — and let automation earn its way in.

01 — Trajectory

From one feeder to four million meters.

Five years of shipping into control rooms that cannot tolerate surprises.

2021

Founded in Rotterdam

Three ex-TSO engineers leave the control room with one conviction: a grid absorbing gigawatts of renewables deserves better than a four-second SCADA refresh.

2022

First feeder live — 40 MW co-op

A wind co-op becomes feeder #1. Sub-second telemetry, 14 days from signature to live — a deployment pace the industry said was impossible.

2023

Series A · topology engine ships

Live connectivity modeling across 300+ substations. The model obeys the physics of the network, not a static single-line diagram.

2024

1 GW under management, 12 regions

Gridline crosses a gigawatt of monitored capacity with 99.98% feeder-facing availability over the trailing twelve months.

2026

4.2M meters · switching automation GA

4.2 million meters stream into the platform. Switching automation goes GA — the system proposes, operators approve.

02 — Operators, not tourists

Built by people who have carried the pager.

Every senior hire has sat a night shift in a control room — or shipped software into one.

03 — Values

Four rules we do not renegotiate.

Written down once, enforced everywhere — exactly like the design system.

Boring reliability

Uptime is the feature. We ship fewer things, later, working — 99.98% feeder-facing availability over the trailing twelve months.

Physics first

Our models obey Kirchhoff, not slideware. If the math doesn't hold at the substation, it doesn't ship.

One accent color

Discipline over decoration. Every screen is built from one design constitution, documented live at /system.

Operators own the button

Automation proposes, humans approve. Every switching action traces back to a person who said yes — and can say no.

Join the grid that runs on Gridline.

We hire operators, engineers and one design-system zealot per office.
